An excellent preschool program can give children long-term benefits that follow them into adulthood. That’s what one study found when researchers tracked children through high school and beyond. In this important study, data revealed that children in an excellent part-day preschool program had less need for special education, less grade retention, and significantly higher high school graduation rates than children who did not attend a good preschool.—National Research Foundation

Learning our Alphabet-Letters of the Week

Each week in preschool, we focus on a letter of the alphabet. {I apologize for the photos being upside down. These are just a few of the recent letters we have studied.} It is amazing how quickly the children are learning their letters. The kids can not only say the letters and sounds, but everyone can write their letters too. We practice our letters {and numbers} in our special journals. The children can also identify several items that start with the letter. It is fun to see them find the letter everywhere and get excited about learning a new letter! Learning the alphabet is really fun!
