Learning Centers- November

Each day, we spend about 10-15 minutes on Learning Centers. Sometimes, these centers could be something simple, like blocks or ABC magnets. Every week, I add centers that go with what we are learning. Here are a few examples of centers we did during the month of November.

NUMBER MATCHING with TURKEYS and FEATHERS-- In this center, we had turkeys with a numeral on them. We had to place that many feathers on the turkey. This helped us learn to read our numbers.

PLAY DOUGH- THANKSGIVING PIE- in this center, we formed play dough to make a pretend pie for Thanksgiving.

WATER TRANSFER: Using a turkey baster, we practiced transferring water from one bread pan to another. This was a great exercise to help us develop our fine motor skills, and those muscles in our hands and fingers.

Every week the children get very excited for center time! It is always fun to see them practice a new skill and learn something, while "playing".
